Build a Country Controls

Standard Roblox movement and camera, tap-to-select, and an on-screen build HUD whose labels you learn in the live session.

Controls

Build a Country uses ordinary Roblox controls plus an on-screen build HUD. This page will not invent unique keybinds for war, sell, or place. If a video overlay claims a secret hotkey that only this experience uses, treat it as unverified. Learn the real button names from the HUD in your session. Then come back to How to Play and Getting Started for what to do with those buttons.

The game is still a five-player strategy and tower-defense plot. Bad camera work is how people mis-tap a declaration. Good camera work is how people keep builders, the storage box, and four neighbor flags in the same mental picture.

What this page will not invent

No unique bind for declare war. No unique bind for sell cash. No unique bind for rotate that this wiki made up. If the live HUD shows a label, use that label. If it does not, do not copy a guess from a comment section.

Standard Roblox still applies on every device:

  • Move with WASD on a keyboard or the left stick on a controller or on-screen stick.
  • Orbit with right-drag on mouse, or the usual camera look on a stick.
  • Tap or click to select buildings, HUD entries, and plot objects.
  • Pinch to zoom on a phone or tablet.

That is enough to walk the plot, read flags, and stop hitting the wrong prompt.

PC

On a computer you are mostly doing three things: walking the plot, orbiting the skyline, and clicking HUD entries. WASD gets you to the storage box and to the edge where four neighbors are visible. Right-drag lets you see whether builders are actually walking or only look busy from one angle. Click selects. If a click did nothing, you clicked empty sky or a locked label. Orbit and try the control that is actually on-screen.

Keep the mouse out of the edges when you are not trying to pan. A lot of day-one disasters are camera panic, not strategy. If you need to redeem 5MVISITS or whatever is still live, you will be clicking a codes UI, not a movement key. Use the how to redeem codes steps and do not mash while the camera is spinning.

Keyboard players should still look at the HUD as the source of truth. A key that works in some other tycoon is not automatically mapped here. This wiki will not publish a fake table to fill the gap.

Mobile

Thumbs do the same jobs as WASD and right-drag, just with less precision. The on-screen stick moves you. Drag looks around. Pinch zooms. Tap selects. The failure mode is fat-finger: you meant to select a house queue and you hit a war-looking prompt instead. Zoom out. Pause. Read the label. Then tap.

Mobile is also how a lot of players first notice the four other countries. Pinch out until flags are in frame. If you only ever pinch in on your own tanks, you are playing a single-player screenshot inside a five-player server.

When the HUD feels tiny, do not invent a gesture. Rotate the phone, pinch, and look for the same on-screen labels PC players get. The loop does not change because the screen is smaller. Getting Started is still population, builders, box, neighbors, delay war.

Console

Left stick moves. Camera look uses the standard Roblox right-stick feel. Face buttons and triggers only do what the on-screen HUD says they do in that moment. If the HUD is highlighting a build action, that is your confirm. If it is highlighting something that looks like politics, stop and read. Console players lose runs the same way mobile players do: confirm on the wrong prompt because the camera was not on the label.

You can still orbit the plot and inspect the storage box. You can still watch builders. You cannot pause the other four players while you learn. Take ten seconds at spawn to find HUD labels before you queue a skyline.

Camera, selection, and the plot

Most useful camera habit: a wide orbit that includes your box, your builders, and at least two neighbor flags. Most harmful camera habit: a tight hero shot of a tank. The hero shot is for the thumbnail. The wide orbit is for the server.

Selection is tap or click. Select the thing you mean, then look at the HUD for the verbs. If nothing highlights, you did not select it. Walk closer. Zoom. Try again. Do not spam.

Builders are easier to read from a slight elevation than from street level. The storage box is easier to read when you actually face it. Neighbor military is easier to read when you stop staring at your own pad. None of that needs a unique key.

The build HUD is the manual

The build HUD sits on-screen. That is the manual. It is how you queue housing, farms, and later military. It is how you notice you cannot afford the next thing. It is how you accidentally start a fight if you tap the wrong tile while the camera is moving.

Learn labels in this order:

  1. Anything that queues housing or production.
  2. Anything that looks like the storage box or inventory.
  3. Anything that sells cash.
  4. Anything that looks like allies or war, which you leave alone until How to Play says the loop can pay for it.

If a label is unclear, hover or highlight and wait. Do not confirm on a guess. The five-player table will not give the click back.

Codes, cameras, and mis-taps

Redeeming a code is a UI task. Movement keys will not type 5MVISITS for you. Open the redeem flow from how to redeem codes, enter the live code, then return to the plot. Do this before you are in a fight, not during one.

If you mis-tapped something political, stop placing. Orbit. See whether the four neighbors reacted. Read Getting Started if you are still in the first hour and you did not mean to leave peace. The controls did not betray you. The unread label did.

Stop, orbit, read the label

The whole controls guide is a brake. When the HUD is loud, stop walking. Orbit until the label is in frame. Read it. Then tap or click. That habit is worth more than a fake keymap, and it is the only habit this page can honestly teach without inventing binds.

Play on PC, mobile, or console with the Roblox defaults you already know. Let the on-screen HUD name the rest. When the camera is solved, the game is the loop again: people, builders, sell, four flags, and a war button you refuse to hit by accident.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers for codes, war, and growing your country.

What are the PC controls for Build a Country?

WASD to move, right-drag to orbit the camera, and click to select. The build HUD is on-screen. This wiki does not invent extra unique keybinds for the experience.

How do I play on mobile?

Use the on-screen stick to move, drag to look, pinch to zoom, and tap to select. Zoom out and read labels before you tap anything that looks like war.

Is there a unique war hotkey?

Not one this wiki will publish. Learn war and ally prompts from the live HUD. If you cannot read the label, do not confirm. Read How to Play for when war belongs in the loop.

The HUD is confusing. What should I do?

Stop placing. Orbit until the control is in frame, then read the live label. Use Getting Started for the first-hour goals those labels serve.

Where do I redeem codes with these controls?

Codes are a UI flow, not a movement key. Follow how to redeem codes and try **5MVISITS** if it is still listed GONE SOON, then return to the plot.
